The problem.

I am a big fan of Spotify – access to millions of songs no matter where I am, on demand for a flat rate? What is not to love?! But recently I had a problem where I could not use the search function. The app claimed I had no internet connection on my cell phone and there were “no offline results found for” whatever I was searching for.  This happened regardless of whether or not I was connected to the wifi or 4g. How frustrating!

The solution.

But I recently found the fix. All you need to do is turn off power saving mode.  Power savng mode limits background network usage on your cell phone and can interfere with Spotify’s ability to search. If that does not fix your problem, check to see if you have any apps that monitor your background network usages and uninstall them.

  1. Hey!

Thanks for the publication of a solution that works for you. I noticed your blog post on the spotify forum. Unfortunately it does not work for me. I have tried both turning off battery saving mode and uninstalling applications that may monitor my data usage, as well as giving spotify full acces to data.

    1. I’m sorry to hear that this resolution did not help. Some people have had issues with the actual Spotify App having a bug in it. They have released a new version that has resolved this issue. I hope everything is working for you now.
