Wi-fi connection problems can be caused by either a router not working properly or the wireless adapter on a computer not working properly. This can often be distinguished by checking to see if another device is able to connect to the router. If a router is not working properly, sometimes resetting the router or upgrading the firmware on the router will fix the issue. Sometimes the route needs to be replaced. If the Network adapter on the computer is not working properly, then it could be an issue with the driver, WPA, WPA2 authentication, or something is physically wrong.
